We've gotten better at this whole running-a-bike-shop-during-a-global-pandemic-and-bike-shortage thing. This season, you can expect organized chaos!
General shop operations stuff:
Our doors are open to the public, no appointment necessary! Please wear a mask, be mindful of social distancing in the shop, and stay home if you feel sick/have tested positive/just returned from an island cruise with your influencer friends. As the season picks up, you may need to wait outside before entering the shop as we can only allow a limited capacity of customers inside at one time. We're open 10 - 6 Tuesday thru Friday and 12 - 5 Saturdays.
Do I need to wear a mask in your store if I'm fully vaccinated?
Yes, according to Burlington's latest mandate we are back to masking in retail stores regardless of vaccination status, so please wear one!
I want to get my bike worked on, what should I do?
Come by the shop and we'll get you an estimate on the spot. Service like flat tire repairs and accessory add-ons can usually be done while you wait. We can be flexible with turnaround, but in general more in-depth service will require you to leave your bike with us for at least a week. Tune-ups are scheduled out about a month during our busy season. Alternatively, we can schedule an appointment for you to drop your bike off and have service done the day of – just ask about our schedule.
I'm interested in purchasing a bike, can I come by to check out your selection?
You sure can! Our selection varies by season. During the winter, we're turning out refurbished used bikes like crazy, so we'll have a great stock of ready-to-ride bikes to choose from through early spring. Once the season (and the weather) heats up, so does our service schedule – because we're unable to refurbish bikes as quickly as they are donated, we'll have you choose from our selection of fixer-uppers, make a deposit, and book it out a few weeks for service.
Our selection of new bikes is small these days due to industry delays, please call ahead if you're looking for a particular model.
I left a voicemail and you never got back to me!
We're so sorry but when we're swamped, so is our voicemail box! Please try calling again during our open hours, e-mail us at info@oldspokeshome.com, or slide into our DMs on Instagram or Facebook. We're much more responsive there.
You can always give us a call at (802) 863-4475 or DM us on the socials with more questions. Thank you for supporting your local nonprofit & bike shop...and happy biking!
