Glide-A-Cycle 1937
Here is a late ‘30s recumbent style bicycle with a very unusual drive mechanism. Note the top tube stick shift that moves the pedals up and down drive shafts by cables giving a variable gear. This overbuilt Art Deco era machine is reminiscent of Howard Hughes “Spruce Goose” airplane.
