Mad Dashes! Two down four to go.

We have been having a killer time with the Mad Dashes. We are only 2 races into the 6 race series and it is only going to get better. It is really nice to see some of the biking community out despite the mud and harsh conditions outside. It is turning out to be a good start to the early bike season, stretching out the legs and spinning fast and hard.

The first night of races we stuck to a 500m races mostly and pushed 250m all out finals and back to 500m to decide the champion of the night. It was Robby McFinn that came out big winning over all with a 500m time of 24.587sec. beating Bill Lockwood by 1.242sec. Meg Dzyak was the only female competitor of the night and posted a nice time of 29.851sec.

The second night of races went off with a bang. The Radio Bean was packed, noisy, and hot. This added up to a great setting for more head to head sprints.  For this evening of Mad Dashes we stuck to 250m all out races. It was constant action with prizes and primes involved in almost every race. It was awesome to have a few more ladies come out for the races and open up the field. It was Meg Dzyak and Lauren Ober that met in the women’s championship round. Meg came out victorious posting a 250m time of 13.278sec. Bill Lockwood made an appearance in the championship race again, this time taking home the win with a 250m time of 11.757.

Thanks to all of you that have been coming out to the Mad Dashes. So far it has been a blast and we’re hoping to have more people come out for the next few races. There will be no fooling around, just fast sprints, prizes, good times, and drink specials from Switchback Brewers.
