WHY DONATE?
Bike donations are integral for our Everybody Bikes program, Kids Bike Bonanzas, and other programs. Nicer bike donations are sold in our shop to help generate revenue that supports our social and educational programs.
All donations (bikes and money) are tax-exempt. If you would like a donation receipt, please ask for one when donating.
WHAT WE ACCEPT
We can always use bikes that are in rideable or very nearly rideable condition and/or good quality bikes and parts. Donations are accepted based on staff discretion. A suggested $10 donation to help us provide bicycles and repair services to all Vermonters through our Everybody Bikes program.
LARGE DONATIONS
If you are donating 5 or more bicycles, please call Old Spokes Home ahead of time. Bicycle storage is a challenge for us and we need to plan ahead for large bike donations. You can reach us at (802) 863-4475.
WHERE TO DONATE
Donations can be dropped off at Old Spokes Home anytime during our open hours. Old Spokes Home is located at 331 N Winooski Avenue in Burlington. See Old Spokes Home’s current hours on the bottom of the page.
SELLING YOUR BIKE
Because we're a nonprofit and we take in so many donations, we don't generally buy bikes. If you're looking to make some money off of your old bike, craigslist or facebook marketplace is probably the best options. However, if your bike is *very* special (read: vintage and fancy), we might consider buying it.
